OHIO Access to Justice Internship in South Africa
The OHIO Access to Justice Internship in South Africa offers students an extraordinary opportunity to engage directly with the pursuit of justice, human rights, and equality in one of Africa’s most dynamic societies. Based in Johannesburg, interns will work with , South Africa’s leading public interest law organization dedicated to expanding access to justice for disadvantaged and marginalized communities.
Over six weeks, interns become part of a dynamic team that connects volunteer lawyers with clients in need — people who cannot afford legal representation but face life-altering challenges in housing, family, labor, and refugee law. ProBono.org’s work is rooted in South Africa’s constitutional vision that justice must be accessible to all, and interns will experience firsthand how the legal profession can advance that promise through advocacy, education and collaboration.
Whether you are preparing for a career in law, international development, or human rights, this internship offers a transformative opportunity to witness how legal empowerment and social change take shape in practice.
