We offer tailored workshops and training designed to educate, engage and equip individuals and groups on key health and wellness topics. These sessions are facilitated by our professional staff, graduate assistants or Bobcat Peer Educators and are available to students, faculty, staff and community members.

Green Dot Trainings

The Green Dot Strategy is an innovative approach to violence prevention. Green Dot harnesses the power of individual choices to shift social norms, resulting in broad-based culture change. Green Dot is based on a wealth of interdisciplinary research including social change theory, diffusion of innovation, communication, marketing, and bystander intervention.

Green Dot Student Overview (60-90 minutes)

An introduction to Green Dot, a national evidence  and the power students have to reduce violence on campus. Participants learn practical, proactive bystander skills, explore real barriers to intervention, and gain tools to shift social norms around violence.

Green Dot Employee Overview (60 minutes)

This session introduces faculty and staff to the Green Dot strategy and highlights their unique role in preventing violence on campus. Participants will learn practical tools to model proactive bystander behaviors that support a culture of safety and respect.

Green Dot Student Bystander Training (3 hours)

An in-depth interactive training specifically designed for student leaders. This workshop enhances bystander intervention skills and utilizes social influence to promote a safer campus environment. Participants gain practical tools to empower their peers to intervene to promote a collective sense of responsibility-ultimately creating a safer campus environment!

Green Dot Employee Bystander Training (3 hours)

Designed for faculty, staff, and campus employees, this advanced session builds upon the Green Dot framework to strengthen leadership and support students in building a violence-free campus.

QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) Training & The Green Bandana Project (90 minutes)

Recognize the signs. Start the conversation. Save a life.

QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) is a nationally recognized suicide prevention training designed to equip participants with the skills to recognize warning signs of suicide, ask direct questions, offer hope, and connect with someone to help.

Participants will leave with:

  • Greater confidence to talk about suicide
  • A simple 3-step approach to intervene and refer someone to support
  • Resources to help prevent suicide in their communities

Then, join the Green Bandana Project to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and show others that you’re a safe, supportive person. Trained members carry resource cards and wear green bandanas as a visible sign of mental health advocacy.

QPR + The Green Bandana Project is open to students, faculty, staff, and community members who want to be prepared to help others in distress and contribute to a culture of care.

Thrive 5: Steps Toward Well-Being (60-90 minutes)

This peer-led workshop helps students explore simple, evidence-based actions to support their mental health and well-being, both individually and within student organizations. Rooted in the ā€œFive Ways to Well-Beingā€ and aligned with 51ĀŅĀ×’s THRiVE framework, Thrive 5 offers a practical toolkit that promotes well-being to its fullest by increasing connection, learning, movement, mindfulness, and giving. Participants leave with ideas they can immediately apply to support themselves and their communities.

Alcohol and Other Drugs

Explore prevention and recovery programs. 

Recovery is Spoken Here (RISH) Training (45-60 minutes)

Offered in collaboration with the Collegiate Recovery Community, this peer-led training introduces participants to recovery-friendly language, how to recognize signs that someone may be in or seeking recovery, and how to offer support. The session emphasizes how anyone can become a Recovery Ally and help create a campus culture that supports students living with or impacted by substance use disorder.

Naloxbox: Narcan Training & Harm Reduction Tools (45-60 minutes)

Learn how to recognize and respond to an opioid overdose using Narcan. This peer-led training also covers harm reduction strategies and tools available through the campus NaloxBox program.

Gain an understanding of what hazing is, how it shows up in campus culture, and what you can do to prevent it. Participants will learn how to recognize red flags, respond to concerns, and build a culture of belonging without harm.
