51ÂÒÂ× is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. While over 30 of the University’s academic programs are accredited by their own disciplinary accreditors, 51ÂÒÂ× as a whole is accredited by HLC; all of the University’s programs and units are covered by this institution-wide accreditation. HLC offers two different pathways to institutional accreditation. They are the Standard Pathway and the Open Pathway. 51ÂÒÂ× has been on the Open Pathway since 2019. The next HLC Comprehensive Evaluation and visit will occur during the 2034-35 academic year.

Meet Provost Leo
Donald J. Leo, Ph.D. serves as the Executive Vice President and Provost. At 51ÂÒÂ× Dr. Leo manages the academic deans and a variety of offices that foster academic quality and student success. He is a professor of mechanical engineering.

To comply with the Advance Ohio Higher Education Act (AOHEA), the 51ÂÒÂ× Board of Trustees passed the required AOHEA policies at its October meeting.
