What's Included in the Orientation Fee?
For students, both the orientation program fee and one overnight stay in a residence hall are already covered by .
Family and guest participants have separate program fees and optional overnight housing costs.
Why Do We Charge Fees?
Orientation is a key part of launching your OHIO experience, and these fees make it possible for us to deliver a high-quality, welcoming, and well-supported program. Funds collected through orientation fees directly support:
- Housing & Meals
Overnight accommodations and meals for students during in-person programs.
- Event & Space Reservations
Access to campus facilities, meeting rooms, technology, and event spaces used throughout orientation.
- Orientation Materials & Print Resources
Schedules, program guides, family materials, and other items needed to help students and guests navigate the experience.
- Student Staffing & Support
Orientation Leaders and student employees who welcome families, guide sessions, and ensure each participant feels supported and informed.
These fees allow us to maintain a strong orientation program, support student staff, and provide the resources needed for a successful start to your Bobcat journey.
How and When Fees Are Billed
- Orientation fees are billed directly to the student’s account after checking in for orientation.
- Fees are not due immediately; they follow the standard Bursar’s Office billing schedule.
- If a student later decides not to enroll, orientation fees still apply and must be paid.

Resolving or Disputing Charges
Questions about orientation-related charges must be addressed within three months of attending an orientation session.
