The School of Art + Design continues the tradition of showcasing student talent even during unconventional times, says Courtney Kessel, director of 51ĀŅĀ× Galleries and instructor in the School of Art + Design.
āI think it is extremely important to show the work our students are currently engaged in. By inviting outside professional artists to jury the work each year, students are challenged through the lens of an artist or curator in the contemporary art world,ā Kessel said. āThis is a huge accolade for a student interested in pursuing a career in the arts. Each year, there is a different feel to the show. This is a result of both the juror(s) and the work submitted. I canāt wait to see what this year holds. We are open to image-based submissions, video, and even hosting performance art live on our social media platforms.ā
Ebersole and Sanders open a two-person show, , at in Baker University Center on Nov. 3. Ebersole is an interdisciplinary artist working in sculpture, print media, and installation.
