Warrington Colescott, Professor Emeritus, University of Wisconsin, Madison is known for his satiric etchings. In them, he brings history alive by thrusting us into a colorful world in which he has reimagined reality. His best known series, ā€œThe History of Printmakingā€ (1974-1981) helped to establish the historic importance of a neglected artistic medium while also establishing his own position in the pantheon of great print artists. The exhibit at the Kennedy Museum includes the entire original ā€œThe History of Printmakingā€ series as well as works from ā€œMy German Tripā€ (in which he envisions a dialog with great German print artists), and other works.
