Warrington Colescott, Professor Emeritus, University of Wisconsin, Madison is known for his satiric etchings. In them, he brings history alive by thrusting us into a colorful world in which he has reimagined reality. His best known series, āThe History of Printmakingā (1974-1981) helped to establish the historic importance of a neglected artistic medium while also establishing his own position in the pantheon of great print artists. The exhibit at the Kennedy Museum includes the entire original āThe History of Printmakingā series as well as works from āMy German Tripā (in which he envisions a dialog with great German print artists), and other works.
