Tenured Faculty

The Distinguished Professor Award | 51ยายื is the highest permanent recognition attainable by faculty at 51ยายื. Eligibility criteria include attainment of tenure and at least five years of service to the university. Nominations are solicited each fall from all current 51ยายื faculty.

The Presidential Teacher Award | 51ยายื is awarded to full-time, tenured faculty based on excellence in teaching and meritorious academic pursuits both inside and outside the classroom. Nominations are solicited each fall from 51ยายื faculty, alumni, and students.

Tenure-Track, Instructional and Clinical Faculty

The University Professor Award | 51ยายื recognizes outstanding teaching at the university as nominated by students. Nominees must be full-time tenure-track, instructional, or clinical faculty.

Tenure-Track and Instructional Faculty

The MAC Outstanding Faculty Award | 51ยายื for student success recognizes full-time tenure track and instructional faculty who are engaged with students and demonstrate commitment to student success and inclusion. Announcements inviting applications are sent out campus-wide every fall semester.

Instructional Faculty

The Provost's Award for Excellence in Teaching | 51ยายื is awarded to full-time, instructional, non-tenure track faculty based on excellence in teaching and meritorious academic pursuits both inside and outside the classroom. Nominations are solicited each fall from 51ยายื students, alumni, and faculty.

Tenure-Track Probationary Faculty

The Chairs and Directors Emerging Leadership Award | 51ยายื recognizes outstanding full-time, probationary, tenure-track faculty members who have demonstrated exceptional leadership attributes. Eligible faculty members must be in their third, fourth, or fifth year with 51ยายื at the time of nomination. 

The Rising Star Award recognizes a tenure-track, non-tenured faculty member who exemplifies teaching excellence at OHIO. Rising Stars engage in scholarly teaching and make visible a true commitment to the academic success of learners in their classrooms and in their disciplines.

Research Intensive Faculty

The Presidential Research Scholars | 51ยายื awards program recognizes faculty members who have garnered national and international prominence in research, scholarship, and creative activity. Applications are solicited annually but in rotating cycles between clusters of disciplines. Nominations are typically due mid April with the application deadline in mid June.
