Wade Elkins
Interim Music Director
Wade Elkins has led a varied performing career, working in New York and Chicago theatre, regional theatre, TV, commercials, film, studio recording, cruise ships, a theme park, and workshops and readings of new theatre works. He even donned the ābald and blueā as a Blue Man with BLUE MAN GROUP for 13 years.
Select theatre credits include Wonderful Town (Frank Lippencott) directed by Mary Zimmerman at the Goodman Theatre; regional productions of Gay Bride of Frankenstein (Harry āSpotlight Award Nomination), Forever Plaid (Francis), Into the Woods (Rapunzelās Prince), Big Fish (Will) among many others; and Twelfth Night (Malvolio) and 9 to 5 the Musical (Franklin Hart) here at OU's Tantrum Theater. Film credits include Bert and Arnieās Guide to Friendship and Kabukicho (Cannes Film Festival) along with several commercial and television appearances including Chicago Fire.
Wade earned a Bachelor of Music with Honors in Voice Performance from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, a Master of Music Education with Honors from Northwestern Universityās Bienen School of Music, and a Master of Fine Arts in Acting from 51ĀŅĀ×.
In addition to performing and teaching acting and music classes here at OU, Wade has been a high school music teacher; clinician and competition judge; private vocal and musical coach; theatrical, church, and choral music director; and instructor at arts camps.
