Welcome to the Eastern Campus Dean's Office

Dr. Richard W. Greenlee was appointed Interim Dean of Campus and Community Relations at 51�� Eastern in May 2025.

A valued member of the 51�� community since 1990, Dr. Greenlee is a seasoned academic leader and social work educator with over three decades of service. He has previously held several key leadership roles, including Interim Dean of 51�� Zanesville, Associate Provost for Appalachian Access and Enrichment Programs, and Chair of the Department of Social Work.

Dr. Greenlee holds a Ph.D. in Social Work from The Ohio State University and an MSW from the University of Pittsburgh. His teaching portfolio includes courses like Introduction to Social Welfare and Social Work, Dynamics of Human Behavior, Research Methods in Social Work, and Social Work Orientation Seminar.

Throughout his tenure, Dr. Greenlee has been recognized for his excellence in teaching and commitment to student success, receiving honors such as the University Professor Award (1994), the Student Affairs Faculty Contribution Award (1999), the Dean's Outstanding Teacher Award in the College of Arts and Sciences (2001), and the Presidential Teacher Award (2005).

A native of the Ohio Valley, Dr. Greenlee is dedicated to enhancing educational opportunities in the region, working closely with faculty, staff, and students to uphold the university's mission of academic excellence and community engagement.
