Meet the Chillicothe Campus Dean
Mike Lafreniere was appointed as 51ÂÒÂ× Chillicothe's interim dean on Tuesday, July 1, 2025. He has been a valued member of the 51ÂÒÂ× community since 1994.
Previously serving as special assistant to the associate vice provost for regional higher education and partnerships, Lafreniere has made significant contributions to the University’s mission through his leadership, teaching and commitment to student success. He holds the title of associate professor and teaches mathematics, focusing on both in-person and online education.
Lafreniere earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Master of Engineering in Environmental Engineering, both from the University of Florida. His professional background spans teaching, academic administration and consulting in both academic and industry settings.
As interim dean, Lafreniere works closely with faculty, staff and students to support the University's mission and maintain a focus on academic excellence, student engagement and community enrichment. His leadership is crucial in ensuring OHIO Chillicothe’s continued growth and success as it transitions to this new chapter.
Lafreniere succeeds Dr. Roberta Milliken, who made significant contributions to OHIO Chillicothe during her tenure as dean.
