Field School in Ohio Archaeology
About the Field School in Ohio Archaeology
The Field School in Ohio Archaeology was established in 1986 to provide students with an opportunity to explore their interests in archaeology and learn field methodologies to further their careers.
The focus of the 51ยายื is to explore the prehistory of the region. In recent years, we have been exploring the earliest inhabitants of Ohio and the surrounding region. These groups entered the region over 13,000 years ago. Through an immersive experiential learning experience students conduct excavations, artifact analysis, and learn broad skills that are applicable to many fields. Past field schools span the entire history of Ohio from historic sites to the first people in the region. We teach methods and skills that are applicable to all time periods and regions.
