Center for Intervention Research in Schools

The Center for Intervention Research in Schools (CIRS) is made up of 51ĀŅĀ× faculty, staff and students who are dedicated to improving the lives of children and adolescents with emotional and behavioral problems through school-based interventions and supports. The CIRS team strives to conducts cutting-edge, interdisciplinary research, provides training experiential learning opportunities to undergraduate and graduate students, and offers quality services to children, families and schools.

  • CIRS students and faculty will present new research findings at the Annual Conference for the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies in New Orleans, November 20-23.
  • CIRS members Alison Pence-Ward and Sydney Aller, along with Dr. Julie Owens and Dr. Steven Evans, will present at the Advancing School Mental Health conference in Orlando, December 2-5.
  • CIRS students and faculty will present new research findings at the Annual Convention for the National Association of School Psychologists, February 24-27.

  • Congratulations to Dr. Kelsey Ogden, who successfully defended her dissertation titled Socialization of Child Coping: Examining Differential Associations for Mothers and Fathers.
  • Congrats to Emily Glatt. Her thesis, titled ā€œUnderstanding Inattention, Hyperactivity/Impulsivity, and Peer Rejection in Preschool: The Potential Role of Conduct Problems and Prosocial Behavior,ā€ was accepted for publication in Early Childhood Research Quarterly.
  • Congratulations to Sydney Aller as she successfully proposed her thesis this July 2025!
  • Emily Glatt for successfully proposing her dissertation project.
  • Yuika Iwai and Carolyn Campbell for their most recent publication (A Scoping Review of Implementation of the PAX Good Behavior Game).
  • Adam successfully defended his thesis. Congratulations on this major accomplishment!
  • Congratulations to Victoria Ogbimi-Aiyemomi, as she is a recipient of the 2025-2026 Health Care Scholars United Graduate Scholarship.
