David Edwards
David Edwards is the Veterans Certification Assistant for the Brigadier General James M. Abraham & Colonel Arlene F. Greenfield Veterans and Military Student Services Center, working remotely from Virginia. He is a U.S. Air Force veteran who served 26 years, from 1986 to 2012.
David earned his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Methodist College and a Master of Science in Postsecondary and Adult Education from Capella University. He joined the Veterans and Military Student Services Center in May 2014 as its inaugural Director. After retiring from the university to address family medical needs, he returned in April 2021 as Coordinator of Veteran Services and Academic Advisor. In June 2023, he transitioned into his current role to allow for the hiring of a new Assistant Director.
His primary responsibilities include reviewing student schedules for VA approval, serving as a School Certifying Official for veteran and military-affiliated students, and supporting programs that promote awareness and recognition of veteran students across campus.
Outside of work, David enjoys golf, reading, and spending time with his family—especially his four grandchildren.
