Four in a row

Reading completed a fourth straight win at the expense of Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park thanks to a Simon Church double and a goal from Jimmy Kebe in a 3-1 over Neil Warnock’s side. Palace who comprehensively tore Reading apart at the Madejski Stadium in December with a 4-2 score line looked a completely different side, but that is only to be expected considering what the Croydon club have been through since the turn of the year.

Following on from Reading’s dramatic victory over Plymouth Argyle, the fifth round of the FA Cup arrived at the Madejski Stadium with Reading hosting promotion chasing West Bromwich Albion. Liverpool levelled the scores nine minutes before the break when Stephen Gerrard hit a long-range equaliser. However, the Premier League giants were left in no doubt that they had an extremely hard game on their hands as Reading showed the mettle to lift the morale of all those cheering them on.

Reading though proved tenacious in their approach to City and that attitude certainly paid off in the dying moments of the game.

Unwanted Stalemate

Reading once again left the Madejski Stadium without a victory following a 1-1 draw with Ipswich Town. There were plenty of bright spots to the game, especially as Reading came from behind to get a point. Brendan Rodgers will be scratching his head in disbelief at how Reading failed to win the game outright during the second half as the Ipswich goal came under intense pressure. However, the Tractor Boys were delighted to leave the field with a point.

Reading’s horrible run without a home victory will now go into November as Reading lost 1-0 at home to Leicester City. Reading played well during the first half, however the killer blow was struck in the final moments of the first period when Martyn Waghorn grabbed the only goal of the game. Reading’s defeat leaves the Royals third from bottom of the Championship table and without a home win in 16 games in a sequence stretching back to late January.
