Commercial Photography Minor
The Commercial Photography minor provides students ā particularly those in communication, media, and design-related fields ā with foundational skills in creating compelling images for commercial use. Through hands-on coursework in fashion, portrait, still life, and architectural photography, students learn how to apply visual storytelling techniques in alignment with professional communication goals.
Admissions Requirements
This is a selective minor. Students must have:
- A minimum GPA of 2.75
- A successful portfolio review
These requirements apply to first-year students, change-of-program students, and external transfer students.

Curriculum
The Commercial Photography minor requires a minimum of 15 credit hours, including courses in introductory photography, fashion and portrait photography, still life and architectural photography, and an elective in a specialized area such as video capture, studio management, or business practices.
