
OHIO Southern alumni bring art, music, community spirit to Irontonās riverfront

A celebration of local talent and togetherness is taking shape on the banks of the Ohio River ā and itās powered by Bobcats.
On Saturday, June 21, the 2025 will transform the Ironton riverfront into a hub of music, art and family-friendly fun. The event, now in its fourth year, is presented by , a nonprofit using arts to inspire community impact founded by graduate Amanda Cleary.
āWeāre excited to continue building a celebration that highlights the incredible talent and creativity found right here in our River Valley region,ā said Cleary. āItās a day to connect, enjoy the arts and support our community together.ā
The day begins at 9:30 a.m. with free Youth Fishing Instruction, an inclusive program developed by Southern alumnus James Gordon. Open to all ages and abilities, the event is designed to spark a love of the outdoors and encourage environmental stewardship.
āFirst Cast came to me almost like a daydream,ā said Gordon. āI wanted to plant a seed for the future, to inspire kids to care for the environment.ā
As fishing wraps up at 11:30 a.m., the focus shifts to the main festival, with live music, art and food kicking off at noon.
From noon to 5 p.m., the riverfront will be filled with performances by regional favorites, including Harley Kelley, Ed Spahr, Ryan Thomas, Brad Arthur, Kyleigh Pauley, Wheelhouse, , DJ Everman & Corey Neace, , and . The Community Talent Show will also give local performers a chance to take the stage.
Festivalgoers can explore a wide array of vendors offering original artwork, handcrafted items, food truck fare, fresh-squeezed lemonade, ice cream and other summertime refreshments, adding even more variety to the afternoonās festivities.
In addition to Cleary and Gordon, alumna Tiffany Bailey of curated the First Annual Juried Art Exhibit, which will be open from noon to 5 p.m. The Kids Create Art Station will run during the same time, with support from early childhood education graduate Heather Birch, who is helping lead hands-on activities for young attendees.
Admission is $5 for adults and free for children. The venue is fully accessible, with golf cart transportation available for guests with mobility needs.
