This summer, everyone across the Athens community is invited to stay cool, enjoy delicious concessions treats and engage in the timeless tradition of watching movies on the big screen.

Athena Cinema is proud to present its annual 鈥淏EAT THE HEAT鈥� summer series, which will feature numerous children鈥檚 and family-friendly films on Saturday afternoons. The summer series will be hosted at alternate locations, including the Baker University Center Theater and the Ridges Auditorium, while the Athena Cinema continues to undergo repairs.

鈥淔rom international animations to nostalgic, classic family films, our series offers something for everyone,鈥� said Athena Cinema Director Alexandra Kamody.

Kamody noted that the primary purpose of the 鈥淏EAT THE HEAT鈥� series is to give back to both the greater Athens community and area children鈥檚 organizations. In fact, all admissions revenues for each event will be donated to a different local organization.
