51ĀŅĀ× studentsā creativity and film talent shone during the 20th annual 48-Hour Shootout. Held by the Scripps College of Communicationās School of Media Arts and Studies, this yearās competition took place Feb. 11-13.
During the 48-Hour Shootout, OHIO students are divided into teams and have to produce a five-minute video on a two-day deadline. Right at the start of the competition, each team captain is given randomized details they must include in their film: a prop, genre and line of dialogue.
No stock footage or elements previously filmed are allowed to be included in the film submission. Additionally, all script writing, rehearsals, costume design, sound design, and video editing must be completed within that 48-hour span.
In this yearās competition, Team OHIOrochky with their romantic comedy film āAct Normalā took first place, with Healthy Team placing second with their magical/fantasy film āQuest for Allitrot.ā Team License to Ill placed third with their Sci-Fi film āThe Salty Creepster.ā
