Black Student Success Workshop is Feb. 29

The 51ĀŅĀ× Office for Multicultural Student Access and Retention (OMSAR) will host the Black Student Success Workshop from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 29, at Baker University Center 240.

The morning sessions include:

  •  ā€œVIA character strengthsā€
  • ā€œBeing a student leader - the do’s and don’ts and is it really worth it?ā€

After lunch is served, the following concurrent sessions will take place:

  • ā€œWhat do I bring to the table? – Learn how to make yourself marketable with all that you are already doingā€
  • ā€œLeadership compass – What kind of a leader are you?ā€
  • ā€œSalary negotiation – Learn how to negotiate your salary once you find that dream jobā€
  • ā€œMock interview with a panel – Practice and prepare for any interviewā€

ā€œThis is the last event that OMSAR will host for the Black History Month series,ā€ said Vanessa Morgan-Nai, OMSAR’s coordinator for multicultural advising and African American student success. ā€œWe hope for a large turnout as we conclude Black History Month.ā€
