°æ³ó¾±“Ēās is March 17-23, 2019. 51ĀŅĀ× will participate in the Ohio Statewide Tornado Drill on March 20, 2019 at 9:50 am, by testing the campus-wide emergency notification system, which includes outdoor siren, text message and email alert.
The Emergency Programs Office will host a brown bag lunch training entitled āTornadoes in SE Ohioā March 25 from noon-1 p.m. in Baker University Center, Room 237. At this training, participants will learn that Ohio's peak tornado season is generally April through July, and that Athens County has had tornado and straight-line wind damage in the recent past. Discussion will revolve around having an action plan should a tornado be sighted, knowing the difference between a tornado watch and a tornado warning, and the importance of practicing a home drill with your family.
