āClubs Across Campusā spotlights organization dedicated to gaming and giving (VIDEO)
51ĀŅĀ× Communications and Marketingās (UCM) latest installment in the āClubs Across Campusā video series shines a spotlight on a student organization whose members are using their passion for gaming to make a difference in the lives of sick and injured children.
51ĀŅĀ× Extra Life is OHIOās chapter of the national Extra Life organization, which raises funds for Childrenās Miracle Network Hospitals throughout the United States and Canada by hosting 24-hour gaming events. Operating under the motto āPlay games, heal kids,ā Extra Life has raised more than $40 million for the networkās approximately 170 member hospitals over the past 10 years.
OHIOās Extra Life chapter, whose efforts benefit Nationwide Childrenās Hospital in Columbus, meets weekly for equal parts fun and fundraising. The organization is open to OHIO students interested in any form of gaming ā from video games to chess and checkers.
