One of most anticipated events of the close season - the release of the new season fixture list! Reading were handed a home start to the 2009/2010 Coca Cola Championship season against Nottingham Forest.

The Royals faced Forest away at the start of last season, a match that ended goalless. This time Reading will be looking for a first win under new management following the appointment of Brendan Rodgers.

The week after, 15th August, will see Reading travel 305 miles to Newcastle United. Other key fixtures: Swansea visit the Madstad on Boxing Day, while the return match against Newcastle takes place on 9th January.

The Royals will finish the campaign at home to Preston North End.
