ACOS-MSS enriches the OU-HCOM community by providing surgical skills workshops, mentorship opportunities, and events that prepare students for residency and beyond. We help bridge the gap between medical students and the osteopathic surgical profession through panels, shadowing, and collaborative events with other student organizations. Our chapter also takes part in service efforts like Operation Gratitude, surgical supply drives, and community health outreach.
Tentative Schedule for 2025-2026
Each academic year, ACOS-MSS hosts a range of events designed to build clinical confidence and career readiness. These include introductory and advanced suturing workshops, residency panels, mock interviews, and case-based learning nights. We also organize service events like Operation Gratitude and local outreach programs. Events are often co-hosted with other student groups and are funded through SGA support, small workshop fees, donations, and occasional fundraisers.
