Ohio Osteopathic Association House of Delegates passed a resolution to establish a committee to explore the need for an osteopathic college in Ohio.

State legislation passes House Bill 229 on July 28, 1975.

1975 Governor Rhodes Signs H.B. 229

Aug. 18, 1975, Ohio Gov. James A. Rhodes signed H.B. 229, during a ceremony at the Ohio Statehouse.

1976 Grosvenor Hall Dedicated

Sept. 11, 1976, Grosvenor Hall is dedicated as the first medical school building.

OU‑COM officially opens in September 1976 under Dean Gerald Faverman, Ph.D., welcoming its inaugural class of 24 students in Grosvenor Hall.

2025 Transformational $70M Gift from OHF

51ĀŅĀ× and the Osteopathic Heritage Foundation announce a $70 million commitment to the Heritage College: $45 million for research and up to $25 million for scholarships. The Foundation’s total support now exceeds $193 million.
