Meet the October GradImpact Student!
The Graduate College is excited to announce the launch of GradImpact, a new recognition initiative to celebrate graduate students who have made an impactful difference in our university community through their research, teaching, or service.
GradImpact highlights the diverse ways graduate students contribute to the mission of 51ĀŅĀ× through contributions to research, use of innovative teaching practices, or dedicated service and leadership. We want to highlight the many roles graduate students play in shaping the academic and social fabric of 51ĀŅĀ×. We invite faculty to nominate outstanding graduate students, masters or doctoral, from any discipline who exemplify excellence, leadership, and positive impact.
GradImpact Nominees Should:
- Be currently enrolled in a graduate program (masterās or doctoral; online or residential)
- Have demonstrated a clear and positive impact in at least one of the following areas:
- Research ā original contributions, collaborative projects, creative scholarship
- Innovation- contributions via entertainment media, physical or digital art, technological innovation, medical, or any other related fields
- Teaching ā excellence as a TA or instructor, mentorship of peers, curriculum development
- Service ā involvement in university committees, student organizations, or community outreach
How to Nominate:
Please note the timelines below and be aware that any student nominated who is not chosen for a given month will automatically be carried over for consideration in the next monthās cycle. Nominations will reset at the start of the next academic year.

Nominations should include:
- Nomineeās name, program, and email
- A nomination letter describing the nomineeās impact in at least one area of research, teaching, or service (700 word maximum)
Process:
- Students are selected by a committee composed of Graduate College Staff and will be notified in advance of the month of their recognition.
- Three students will be recognized each Fall (October, November, December) and Spring (February, March, April).
- Students recognized for GradImpact will be featured on the Graduate College website and social media and recognized at the Graduate Student Awards Celebration Event in Spring.
