The program is focused on connecting Scripps College of Communication students to various aspects of communication disciplines and careers, in particular looking at new and emerging trends in the field. Students will engage with successful professionals from corporate communications, public relations, journalism, and various aspects of media production; and work in a team on a project related to one of the businesses theyโ€™ll visit and receive feedback from the contacts at that company.

Highlights and Excursions

Visits with media companies, advertising agencies, and other NY businesses. Attending NYC productions for shows such as The Late Show, Drew, or The Daily Show, or other New York events (e.g., Broadway, professional sports โ€” baseball, soccer).

Students will take the following course for a total of 3 credit hours: COMM 3810: Communication Field Studies Away (Bridge: Learning and Doing)

Costs include: tuition, program fee, and out-of-pocket expenses. Scholarships are available.
