Shannon Gray, PsyD

Shannon received a doctorate in Clinical Psychology from National Louis University after completing his internship at 51ĀŅĀ× Counseling and Psychological Services. After finishing his degree, he accepted a full-time position to continue his work as a member of the CPS family. As an African-American male and person of faith, Shannon attempts to acknowledge each studentās intersecting identities, values, and personal needs. Shannon approaches therapy from an integrative approach, bringing together aspects of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), multiculturalism, positive psychology, and family systems. Although these tools assist in a comprehensive approach to therapy, Shannon consistently works with students to develop a greater sense of personal flexible and to identify new ways in which strength-based approaches or creative solutions can be enacted both within and outside of therapy. In his personal life, Shannon is a sports enthusiast, enjoys creative writing, and travels abroad.
