Religious Studies Minor

Religious Studies Minor

For majors in political science, history, international studies, philosophy and women and gender studies, the religious studies minor offers a flexible approach. Students can choose any five courses according to areas of interest, without having to take a core set of courses.

Curriculum

The Religious Studies minor provides students with a broad understanding of how religion shapes and reflects human experience across cultures and history. The minor requires a minimum of 15 credit hours, including foundational courses, electives, and a capstone experience that allows students to apply their knowledge in a focused area of interest.

Career Opportunities

A minor in religious studies is especially attractive to students entering graduate programs in international studies, journalism, politics, and business at 51ยายื or elsewhere. It is also of value to graduates entering the Peace Corps or working as counselors and therapists, among other professions.
