Jewish Studies Certificate

The Jewish Studies Certificate provides undergraduate students with an opportunity to deepen their knowledge about Jewish history, culture, and literature. The program brings together a number of disciplines (history, classics and world religions, English, Jewish studies, and political science).

Students will take one of three basic courses (in biblical literature or Jewish history) and then a sampling of courses offered in five different areas, with at least one course in four of the five areas.

Curriculum

The Jewish Studies Certificate requires a minimum of 12 credit hours. Students complete a required course in either the Hebrew Bible or an introduction to Jewish studies. Students then choose three additional electives, which must include at least one course in Jewish studies or religious studies and one in history.

Career Opportunities

The graduates with this certificate will have an increased knowledge about Jewish history, culture, and literature.
